For the second straight week, three teams were eliminated from the "Suck For Luck" race. Remember, elimination occurs once any team has three victories on the season. While that number is not official, since 2004 every team with the first pick has finished 3-13 or worse.
The Chiefs traveled to Oakland and were a four point underdog according to most line makers but the Chiefs pitched a 28-0 shut out. Backed by three interceptions a piece from Raiders Quarterback's Kyle Boller and newcomer Carson Palmer, the Chiefs shut down a banged up Raiders team. Dexter Flower, pictured below, (Photo by Brian Bahr/Getty Images) had an interception returned for a touchdown to ice the game in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs were blown out the first two weeks of the season but have bounced back to a 3-3 record to contend in the AFC West. Elsewhere, DeMarco Murray and the Cowboys ran all over another banged up team, the Saint Louis Rams. DeMarco Murray made his first career start over the injured Felix Jones and ran for 253 and a touchdown. The 253 yards Murray collected were a Cowboys Running Back record, and has likely stolen the job from an always banged up Felix Jones. The Cowboys were never a favorite for the first pick, but sloppy play and blowing late leads had left them hanging around until now. The Browns were the final team eliminated from "Suck For Luck" competition Sunday, with a 6-3 victory over another injury plagued team, the Seahawks. With two 2-3 teams facing off, the winner had to be eliminated from the race, and the hometown Browns pulled it off on a pair of Phil Dawson 52 and 53 yard field goals. With six teams eliminated in the last two weeks, only ten teams remain with two, one or no wins to their credit. The next few weeks will tell us who really is a contender for the first pick and in all likelihood, Andrew Luck. Check back for Power Rankings Tuesday or Wednesday night.
